Chocolate Blood!!

Oh!!! Its Tuesday :P, That would explain why im  here!

At the moment im falling a bit behind with the accessories for my Guro Lolita co-ord for the expo on saturday!

But ive got a pink Bodyline dress (dont wanna get any blood on the rest!)
Im making an eyepatch, and an apron (which I shall splatter the blood on)
and putting on plasters!

Yep, this year ive run out of money :(
but hopefully by next year i'll have a bit more to go all out!!!
but it's all a working progress and I think it'll look okay on the day!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!

Chocolate blood (edible)

This mixture looks great, smells great, and tastes like chocolate!
  1. 1
Combine light corn syrup with red food dye until you get a shade that closely resembles real blood. You can also use a red drink mix (like cherry Kool Aid® powder) instead of red food dye, although be warned that this changes the flavor.
  2. 2
Carefully add a small amount of cocoa powder to the syrup mixture to darken the shade and cause the fake blood to turn opaque like real blood.
  3. 3

    Perfect the consistency. Either:
    • Thin the blood by slowly adding water; or
    • Thicken it with a couple pinches of flour or cornstarch mixed in carefully and slowly.
(found on wikihow)

Sadly this is a tiny post today, but more following Saturday after expo, and pictures too!!!

DIY Lolita: Double-Wing Makeup Look

Hello everyone :) I hope you are all well. Today's DIY Lolita is this simple yet affective double-wing eyeliner makeup look.

*** NOT MY PHOTOGRAPH!!! I MAY UPLOAD MY PHOTO AT A LATER DATE***

You Will Need:

- Brow Powder/Pencil in your colour
- White Eyeshadow
- Light Cream Coloured Eyeshadow
- Black Gel Eyeliner
- Matte Black Eyeshadow
- Black Pencil Liner
- White Pencil Liner
- Black Mascara
- Light Pink Blush
- Pale Pink Lipstick
- Clear Lipgloss

O1. First, fill in your brows. Then, use the white eyeshadow to highlight your browbone and inner corner.

O2. Next, dust the cream shadow all over your eyelids. Using an angled brush, apply the gel liner. Start in the inner corner, working your way out. When you get to the outer corner, flick it out. Then, do a smaller flick just above the larger one, as the photograph shows. Set with black eyeshadow.

O3. Starting at the outer corner of the eye, apply some black pencil liner to the lower lashline. Only take it about a quarter of the way across. Again, set with the black eyeshadow.

O4. Line the waterline with the white eyeliner pencil. This helps to create a more wide-eyed look. Curl lashes and apply 2-3 coats of mascara.

O5. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Finish off the look with a little lipstick and lipgloss.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any others that you'd like me to do, just comment below!

Lots of Love,

Kamikaze Girls

Tuesday time!
Sadly I have an awful headache and my dog is sitting on the keyboard, but at least im on time today! I've just taken some paracetamol so I should be okay ^_^

Today id like to tell you about the movie Kamikaze Girls.

It is known to be one of the ultimate lolita movies, written by Novala Takemoto and the film was made by Tetsuya Nakashima.

It was first a best selling novel called Shimotsuma Story, but then was adapted into a comic, then a film.

The protagonist in the film is named Momoko (played by  Kyoko Fukada),  who is a lolita who only worries about herself and puts her happiness first and above all others.

Her parents are
divorced and she lives with her ex-yakuza dad (Hiroyuki Miyasako) and her fuzzy in the head grandma.

While trying to earn money by selling some things she meets Ichiko (Anna Tsuchiya) a Yankee Biker from the ponytail gang.

Together the form a strong friendship and help each other out when needed as strange doings are going on around them, that they have to deal with.

It's a great movie that I've loved for a long time and posses on DVD (you can get it on Amazon) So if you ever get bored, put it on!

NUNNERS!!!

Hi there, my name's Sophie Nunn. I know it's Saturday, which is Laura's day, but today is the only day I could fit in at this specific moment.

I'm just gonna tell ya a bit about myself! I have never worn Lolita but I really like the style, especially the Sweet Lolita! I am 14 and live in the UK. I absolutely love to cosplay! Especially as boys, 'cause I believe it is more interesting and cool!
I go to a private school which is owned by the NUNS! Unfortunately, my parents do not own this school (haha), as you may be mistaken by my last name Nunn :P I am usually referred to as Nunners or Nunn! Also, I am God-Parent to Elsa! :P My name to her is Nanny McNunners!

See you soon! Hopefully next weekend or whatever day I can blog!

AYE Chihuahua!

GAHH!!! Im Oh Soo sorry!! I not only didn't post last week, but im late today!! Sorry sorry sorry!!!!

But I have excuses (now I shall try to make up for it)

Last week (the day after the Royal Wedding) I purchased a small furry rat thing,!

This is my new Chihuahua puppy Elsa!
She is just like a baby and keeps me up all night! (that's the reason im late tonight)! But I forgive her (And I hope you'll forgive me) As she's such a darling!

She weighs an ounce at the moment and can fit into one hand, and is one little poof ball.

At the moment she will run around for 5 minutes and then black out on the floor and sleep for 2 hours or so.

And im exhausted!! It's like having a new born baby (with fur!) A Furbaby!!!
Bought her a snuggie from the £1 shop! (just couldn't resist!)
Her little wardrobe is filling up (and don't say it' mean to dress your dog up, she gets cold and shivers, so she has to wear at least a jumper!)

I adore her to bits and im oh so sorry about the late posts!

I SHALL see you next week! I promise!!!

Im back! It's funny how it seems the weeks are going faster.
I'll start by saying I hope you had an amazing Easter filled with fuzzy bunnies and lots of chocolate! And I did too, I mostly got chocolate and im not complaining!
Well Easters not really over in my opinion so bring out the Easter motifs!

That means bunny hats! :

And pastel coloured co-ords! :

But if it's Easter that means summer is in full swing! (If only this clothing wasn't so hot!)
So since im sweltering in this JSK under the sun, I think it's time to remove my parasol from the wardrobe and enjoy the weather!

Thats all for today, sorry for there not being as much as I usually write,  but I'll try and make up for the next week!

DIY Lolita: A (almost) No Sew Lolita Headband

Hello!
It's Chelsea again :c) I'm SUPERRRR sorry I haven't blogged for 3 weeks (I think), but I've been busy/ill/too lazy. Anyway, I'm starting a new series of Do It Yourself Lolita projects. Every Monday (until the series ends) I will blog a tutorial on how to make a Lolita-esque item: either clothing, accessories, furniture... etc.

So, the first project is this gorgeous headband:

***Not my photo, I may upload my photo at a later date***

You Will Need:

- Hot Glue Gun
- Needle and Thread
- 1 Meter Fabric, in the colour of your choice!
- 1 Meter Wide Ribbon, in the same colour as the fabric (for the bows)
- 1 Meter Ribbon in a colour that co-ordinates with the fabric and bow ribbon (for crosses)
- 1 Meter Lace Trim, in the colour of the 'crossing' ribbon ^^
- Very Thin Cardboard
- Fabric Glue
- 60 cm extra ribbon, for tying to the head

O1. Get a piece of thin cardboard - about the thickness of a cereal box - and work out the dimensions you'd like. I used a cereal box, and chose to make it 27cm long and 5cm wide. Cut it out and measure it around your head in front of a mirror, so you can see if the shape suits your head :) If not, adjust as necessary. Don't allow it to crease, because I'm pretty sure it'd show. I then rounded off the corners with a coin.

O2. Get your fabric and cut out a rectangle about 2cm wider than your cardboard piece in each direction. Start gluing the fabric on the underside of the cardboard with fabric glue. I used a paintbrush to spread it evenly, pleating the fabric around the corners. Make sure you stretch it so the fabric is tight and doesn't have "bubbles", so to speak.

O3. Now the underside of the cardboard should still be exposed in the middle, with a fabric border which is probably fraying by now. How best to fix a problem? Cover it up and ignore it, of course! I cut a piece of fabric big enough to cover the rest of the cardboard and used PVA glue on the edges because I'm lazy. I then glued it down with more fabric glue.

O4. Time for the crosses! I cut pieces of ribbon slightly longer than I needed and played around, working out how big I wanted to make the crosses. Since it's 27cm long, I eventually decided to start 1cm from each end and make 5 crosses, each 5cm wide. I marked my 5cm intervals with a pencil and also the middle points the crosses needed to go through, just so I'd be sure it was even. Then I trimmed the ribbon pieces as required, dabbed some PVA glue on the ends and glued them down with fabric glue, again using a paintbrush so the layer of glue would be even and not thick enough to seep through.

O5. Now grab your hot glue gun and set it up :) I think this is fairly straightforward, just apply glue and press down in as straight a line as you possibly can, working bit by bit. Pleat around the rounded corners or it'll look funny. I also pleated along the shorter ends, simply because I thought it looked pretty. Of course, I forgot that the bows covered up those ends completely...so don't waste your time xP Might I add, thank god my hot glue gun does not get hot enough to burn me or I would probably not be able to type for months :)

O6. Time to make bows! I love bows. They make virtually anything look good. (Except perhaps boys. But even boys- I'm thinking of An Cafe, Paradeis... etc- can look kawaii in bows ^^) This should be fairly straightforward and there are plenty of bow how-tos on the internet, but I may as well tell you how I did mine. I sealed the loop for the top part of the bows using fabric glue, then gathered and sewed. The tail parts are simply a piece of ribbon gathered in the centre. Don't forget to burn any raw edges :) Though I didn't burn the tail ends until I'd put the bows together. Also, I made the part that goes around the middle by cutting a piece of ribbon in half, using PVA glue on the raw edge and then gluing it in half again with fabric glue. Or you could prepare ahead at the craft store and buy a thinner ribbon in the same colour.

O7. And now, we glue! Use your hot glue gun to glue the bows down on the ends. I decided it looked best with the middle of the bow right against the lace edge, so the tails overhang. You might decide you want to glue it a bit higher or something, so check against your head before gluing :)

O8. Last step! Find some ribbon in an appropriate colour, such as what you used to make the crosses, and hot glue it to the underside of the headband. I used wine coloured ribbon instead of white because it camouflages into my purple hair :) You might want to do the same, camouflaging the ribbon by matching it as close to your hair colour as possible. I used two pieces which were about 30cm long each so I could comfortably have enough to tie a bow under my hair. I actually glued it slightly off centre so it'd sit properly on my head, though that's probably not necessary.

I hope you enjoyed this little DIY :) I did get the idea for this headband from someone on another website, and I also got a little help with the instructions from the same person, as I am terrible at explaining things. But, the instructions have been put into my own words, and I did write most of them myself.

See you all next week!!
